Testing and Commissioning - SCADA Lead

We are seeking an experienced Testing and Commissioning – SCADA Lead to oversee the delivery, testing and commissioning of supervisory control and data acquisition systems across complex industrial, infrastructure or energy projects. The role will provide technical leadership throughout the commissioning lifecycle, ensuring systems are installed, configured, integrated and tested in line with approved designs, project specifications, safety requirements and quality standards.

Key responsibilities will include developing and managing SCADA testing and commissioning strategies, plans, procedures and schedules; coordinating commissioning activities with engineering, construction, control systems, electrical and client teams; and supervising technicians, engineers, vendors and subcontractors. You will lead factory and site acceptance testing, point-to-point checks, loop checks, functional testing, interlock and alarm verification, communications testing, database validation, graphics reviews and end-to-end integration with PLC, RTU, DCS, telemetry and third-party systems. The role will also involve identifying and resolving defects, managing punch lists, reviewing technical documentation, monitoring progress, maintaining accurate test records and supporting handover, training and final acceptance.

Applicants should have substantial experience in SCADA testing and commissioning, with a strong understanding of industrial automation, control systems, instrumentation, networking and communications protocols. Experience with platforms such as Siemens, Schneider, Rockwell, AVEVA/Wonderware, Ignition or similar systems would be advantageous. You will be confident interpreting control philosophies, functional descriptions, cause-and-effect documents, network architectures, electrical drawings and test specifications. Strong problem-solving, communication and organisational skills are essential, together with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in live operational environments. A relevant engineering or technical qualification, knowledge of commissioning safety processes and experience producing quality documentation are desirable. The successful candidate must be willing to travel to project and client sites as required and maintain a proactive, collaborative approach to achieving safe, reliable and timely project delivery.
