Testing and Commissioning - SCADA Lead

We are seeking an experienced Testing and Commissioning – SCADA Lead to oversee the delivery, testing and commissioning of supervisory control and data acquisition systems across complex infrastructure, utilities or industrial projects. You will provide technical leadership from design review and system integration through to site acceptance, handover and close-out, ensuring all activities are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved specifications, project schedules and quality standards.

Key responsibilities will include developing and managing SCADA testing and commissioning strategies, plans, procedures and schedules; coordinating factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, system integration testing and end-to-end functional testing; and leading the verification of PLC, RTU, HMI, historian, telemetry, communications and control interfaces. You will review designs, control philosophies, I/O schedules, cause-and-effect matrices, network architecture and software documentation, identifying technical risks and ensuring defects are recorded, investigated and resolved. The role will also involve supervising commissioning engineers and subcontractors, coordinating activities with electrical, instrumentation, control and network teams, and liaising with project stakeholders, suppliers and client representatives.

Applicants should have substantial experience in SCADA testing and commissioning, ideally within critical infrastructure, water, energy, transport, manufacturing or a similar regulated environment. Strong knowledge of PLC and telemetry systems, industrial communications protocols, control networks, alarm management, cybersecurity principles and commissioning documentation is required. Experience with platforms such as AVEVA/Wonderware, Ignition, WinCC, iFIX, FactoryTalk or comparable systems would be advantageous. You will be a confident problem-solver and communicator, capable of interpreting technical information, managing competing priorities and making sound decisions under pressure. A relevant engineering, automation, electrical or control systems qualification is preferred, together with a strong commitment to safety, quality, technical compliance and successful project delivery.
