We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Vice President to lead water operations across a complex, safety-critical environment. This senior leadership role will oversee operational performance, asset reliability, regulatory compliance and the delivery of high-quality water services to customers and communities.
Working closely with executive colleagues, regulators, local stakeholders and operational teams, you will set the strategic direction for water operations while ensuring plans are translated into consistently high standards of performance. You will provide visible leadership across treatment, production, distribution, maintenance and operational support functions.
Key responsibilities Develop and deliver a long-term operational strategy aligned with regulatory, customer, environmental and business objectives. Lead a large, multidisciplinary workforce, creating a culture centred on safety, accountability, inclusion and continuous improvement. Oversee the performance, resilience and optimisation of water treatment, supply and distribution assets. Ensure compliance with drinking water standards, environmental obligations, health and safety requirements and relevant legislation. Manage operational budgets, investment priorities, contracts and resources to achieve value for money and sustainable outcomes. Strengthen emergency preparedness, incident response and business continuity arrangements. Use data, technology and performance insight to improve reliability, efficiency, customer service and environmental performance. Build effective relationships with regulators, contractors, suppliers, public bodies and community representatives. About youYou will bring substantial senior leadership experience within water, utilities, infrastructure, engineering, manufacturing or another highly regulated operational environment. You should have a strong understanding of asset-intensive operations, regulatory frameworks, risk management and operational improvement.
We are looking for an inclusive and credible leader who can influence at board and stakeholder level while remaining connected to frontline teams. You will be confident making complex decisions, managing competing priorities and leading through change. A relevant technical, engineering or business qualification is desirable, together with a demonstrable record of improving safety, service quality, resilience and financial performance.

We are seeking an accomplished senior leader to oversee water operations across a complex, customer-focused service environment. This is a high-impact opportunity for an individual with strong operational expertise, commercial judgement and a commitment to delivering safe, reliable and sustainable water services.
Reporting to the executive leadership team, you will set the strategic direction for operational performance while ensuring that day-to-day activities meet regulatory, environmental, health and safety requirements. You will lead a diverse workforce and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve service resilience, efficiency and customer outcomes.
Key responsibilities Develop and deliver a long-term operational strategy covering water production, treatment, distribution, network maintenance and asset performance. Provide visible leadership across operational teams, promoting accountability, inclusion, continuous improvement and a strong safety culture. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory obligations, quality standards and environmental commitments. Oversee operational planning, incident response, emergency preparedness and business continuity arrangements. Lead programmes to improve reliability, reduce leakage, manage demand and strengthen resilience against climate and infrastructure risks. Manage budgets, capital investment priorities, procurement activity and operational resources effectively. Use performance data, customer insight and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency. Build effective relationships with regulators, local authorities, contractors, community representatives and other strategic partners. About youYou will be an experienced executive or senior operational director with a strong background in water, utilities, infrastructure or another highly regulated, asset-intensive sector. You will bring a record of leading large-scale teams, managing complex operational risks and delivering measurable improvements in performance, service quality and cost control.
Strong communication and influencing skills are essential, alongside the ability to make sound decisions in demanding circumstances. A relevant technical, engineering, environmental or business qualification would be advantageous. Above all, you will demonstrate integrity, strategic vision and a genuine commitment to protecting public health, the environment and the communities served.
