We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to help build and grow a biology-focused practice within a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment. This role will combine strategic practice development with hands-on project leadership, supporting the delivery of high-quality biological, ecological, and environmental programmes. The successful candidate will help shape service offerings, develop client relationships, identify opportunities, and contribute to the long-term growth of the practice.

Responsibilities will include leading projects from inception through completion, defining scopes, programmes, budgets, and resourcing requirements, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams and specialist consultants. You will establish effective project controls, monitor progress, manage risks and change, and ensure that deliverables meet agreed quality, commercial, and regulatory standards. The role will involve preparing proposals and technical approaches, contributing to business development activities, supporting fee and contract negotiations, and maintaining strong relationships with clients, partners, regulators, and other stakeholders. You will also mentor colleagues, promote knowledge sharing, and help develop consistent processes and best practice across the biology team.

Applicants should have substantial experience managing biology, ecology, environmental, or related scientific projects, ideally within a consultancy, research, infrastructure, or regulated industry setting. A degree or equivalent qualification in biology, ecology, environmental science, or a related discipline is expected, together with proven experience managing budgets, programmes, teams, and client expectations. Strong commercial awareness, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to translate complex scientific information into clear recommendations are essential. You should be confident working autonomously while collaborating effectively across technical disciplines, comfortable contributing to strategic decision-making, and motivated by the opportunity to build a growing practice. Professional membership or relevant accreditation, alongside experience with environmental assessment, permitting, compliance, or stakeholder engagement, would be advantageous.
