Technical Advisor - Hydro Power Projects (USA)

We are partnering with a leading hydro power contractor delivering major construction and commissioning projects across the United States. With a strong pipeline of secured work, we are seeking experienced Technical Advisors to support critical installation, erection, and start-up activities on complex hydro assets.

This is a site-based, hands-on role suited to senior hydro specialists who thrive in high-performance construction environments. You will act as the on-site technical authority, ensuring equipment is installed, aligned, and commissioned in accordance with engineering standards, OEM requirements, and project schedules.

Key responsibilities:

* Supervise turbine, generator, and auxiliary equipment installation activities
* Provide OEM-level technical guidance during erection and commissioning phases
* Support troubleshooting and fault diagnosis during mechanical and electrical start-up
* Verify installation tolerances, alignment, and assembly quality
* Interface with construction, commissioning, and engineering teams to resolve site issues
* Review drawings, procedures, and technical documentation for site execution
* Support testing, performance checks, and system handover activities
* Promote safe working practices and adherence to project quality standards

We are looking for professionals with:

* Proven experience supporting hydro turbine and generator installation or commissioning
* Strong mechanical and/or electrical technical background
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and procedures
* Experience working on live construction or commissioning sites
* Practical problem-solving capability in high-pressure environments
* Strong communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams

Desirable experience:

* OEM field service or technical advisory background
* Exposure to large rotating equipment installation
* Commissioning or performance testing involvement
