Executive Overview

On behalf of our client delivering one of Australia's largest and most iconic renewable energy infrastructure projects, ewi is seeking a high-caliber Technical Advisor - Generator to join the engineering leadership team.

Based out of the Cooma office with site presence as required, this critical role requires a high-level hydropower domain specialist to drive technical governance, quality oversight, and execution integrity across all phases of the power unit generator package-from design verification through to grid synchronization.

Core Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Oversight: Provide authoritative engineering guidance across generator manufacturing, shop assembly, site erection, alignment, testing, and final commissioning.

Design & Submission Reviews: Review and verify vendor and subcontractor engineering packages, technical drawings, calculations, and design documentation against project specifications.

Site & Commissioning Execution: Direct commissioning planning and site activities, including factory acceptance testing (FAT), site receipt checks, pre-commissioning, synchronization, and load testing.

Interface & Stakeholder Coordination: Manage technical interfaces between the generator, turbine, excitation, protection, control, and auxiliary systems. Act as the primary technical liaison with OEMs, consultants, contractors, and project leaders.

Risk & Quality Management: Identify technical non-conformances and operational risks, implement corrective actions, and enforce strict compliance with HSE standards, employer requirements, and international codes.

Reporting & Field Support: Deliver progress reports, punch lists, and commissioning documentation while providing rapid technical resolution for complex field issues.

Candidate Profile

Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Technical Expertise: Extensive, proven experience in large-scale hydropower generator projects, with deep knowledge of asynchronous generators, excitation systems, protection, and plant interfaces.

My client is urgent seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for Large scale Hydropower project in Pakistan. Significant and practical understanding of the installation of steel linings (in particular welding) and experience in Francis type turbine is a huge benefit.


Responsibilities:

Reporting to Chief Resident Engineer the Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for daily inspection of the Contractor's mechanical installation work to ensure that it complies with the designs, technical specifications and required quality standards.

You shall produce daily internal reports and contribute to the preparation of the weekly and monthly reports that are issued to the Employer.

You shall participate in the regularly scheduled progress and technical meetings with both the Employer and the Contractor and coordinate his work with the other engineering disciplines (civil and electrical) to resolve any construction interface issues etc. and assist the Employer and the Contractor in all phases of the mechanical work, including various aspects of design, construction, testing and commissioning of the Works.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will also assist the Chief Resident Engineer in checking and certifying the Contractor's payment applications, processing of variations, evaluation of relevant contractor's claims connected with the mechanical works and managing design changes etc.


Qualifications:

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, ideally Masters Degree.Minimum of 15 years experience and preferably 10 years specific experience in the field of design of Hydro-Mechanical and Powerhouse Mechanical Design.Experience as a Senior Mechanical Engineer in detailed design and/or construction of Hydropower projects of minimum capacity of 100MW.

RCC Expert - Major RCC Dam Construction - Pakistan

Are you a seasoned RCC (Roller Compacted Concrete) expert looking for an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on major dam construction projects? Our esteemed client, a leading player in the construction industry, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced RCC Expert to join their team in Pakistan. This is a unique chance to contribute your expertise to the development of cutting-edge RCC dam projects in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities:

RCC Design and Implementation: Lead and oversee the RCC design and implementation processes for major dam construction projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain stringent quality control measures to guarantee the durability and integrity of the RCC structures.Team Leadership: Provide guidance and leadership to a multidisciplinary team of engineers and construction professionals, fostering collaboration and ensuring project milestones are achieved.Project Management: Collaborate with project managers to develop and execute comprehensive project plans, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges related to RCC construction and implement proactive measures to mitigate these risks.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.Proven experience in RCC dam construction, minimum of 15 years.In-depth knowledge of RCC design principles, construction methodologies, and industry best practices.Strong project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and collaborative environment.

Project Location: Pakistan

Salary Package: 10,000 USD to 12,000 USD Per Month + Flights and Accomodation
