An experienced Multifamily Construction Superintendent is required to oversee the successful delivery of large-scale residential developments from pre-construction through to completion. This role will suit a hands-on construction professional with a strong record of managing site operations, coordinating subcontractors and maintaining high standards of safety, quality and programme performance.

Working closely with the Project Manager, design consultants, trades and suppliers, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the site. You will lead by example, promote a collaborative working environment and ensure that all activities are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, building regulations and agreed project milestones.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage subcontractors, site teams, deliveries and daily work sequencing to maintain progress.
  • Review drawings, specifications and method statements, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
  • Monitor workmanship, materials and installation standards, arranging inspections and corrective actions where required.
  • Maintain robust health and safety procedures, including site inductions, toolbox talks and regular inspections.
  • Track programme performance, report progress and contribute to short-term and long-term planning.
  • Coordinate with consultants, inspectors and local authorities to support approvals and successful completion.
  • Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, quality documentation and relevant compliance information.
  • Support commissioning, snagging, handover and the resolution of defects.

Skills and experience

You will ideally have significant experience supervising multifamily, apartment or other complex residential construction projects. A strong understanding of construction sequencing, relevant building standards and site safety requirements is essential, together with the ability to interpret technical drawings and manage competing priorities.

Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills are required. You should be organised, commercially aware and confident making decisions in a fast-paced site environment. A recognised construction qualification, trade background or equivalent practical experience is desirable, as is familiarity with construction management software and standard reporting tools.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality residential developments while working within a professional, safety-focused project team.
