Field Superintendent – Construction (Multifamily)
An experienced Field Superintendent is required to oversee the construction of high-quality multifamily residential developments from mobilisation through to completion. This is a site-based role for a practical and organised construction professional who can lead daily operations, coordinate multiple trades and maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, programme and customer expectations.
Key responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day site activities across multifamily construction projects, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the approved programme.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site personnel, assigning resources and monitoring productivity.
- Review drawings, specifications and method statements, identifying potential conflicts or issues before they affect progress.
- Lead daily briefings, site meetings and coordination discussions with project managers, consultants and trade partners.
- Monitor workmanship and materials to ensure compliance with design requirements, building regulations and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate site records, including progress reports, inspections, deliveries, variations and health and safety documentation.
- Support project scheduling, procurement and short-term planning, highlighting risks and delays promptly.
- Manage snagging, testing, commissioning and handover activities to achieve a high-quality completed development.
- Promote a positive site culture, ensuring all workers follow agreed safety procedures and environmental requirements.
About you
You will have substantial experience supervising construction projects, ideally within multifamily, apartment, residential or other large-scale housing developments. A strong understanding of construction sequencing, structural and finishing trades, site logistics and quality control is essential.
You should be confident reading technical drawings and using construction management or reporting systems. Excellent communication and leadership skills are required, together with the ability to build effective relationships with subcontractors, consultants and project stakeholders. A calm, solutions-focused approach and strong attention to detail will be highly valued.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Superintendent, Field Superintendent or similar construction leadership role.
- Relevant construction qualifications or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, site compliance and quality assurance.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain progress against demanding programmes.
- Relevant site safety certification and a full driving licence.
This position offers the opportunity to play a central role in delivering high-quality residential communities while working within a professional and collaborative project team.
