Field Superintendent - Construction (Multifamily)
Field Superintendent – Construction (Multifamily)
We are seeking an experienced Field Superintendent to oversee the day-to-day construction of a multifamily residential development. This role will be responsible for coordinating site activities, maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety, and ensuring the project is delivered on schedule, within budget and in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
Working closely with project management, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers, you will provide strong leadership on site and act as the key point of coordination for construction operations. You will be expected to identify potential issues early, drive solutions and maintain clear communication throughout each stage of the build.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise daily construction activities across the site, from groundworks through to completion and handover.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site personnel to ensure efficient sequencing of works.
- Monitor progress against the programme and provide regular updates to the project team.
- Review plans, specifications and shop drawings, resolving discrepancies where required.
- Complete regular quality inspections and ensure defects are recorded and addressed promptly.
- Promote a strong health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with site procedures and legal requirements.
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, inspections, deliveries and progress photographs.
- Support commissioning, snagging, practical completion and client handover activities.
About you
You will have substantial experience supervising multifamily, residential or similarly complex construction projects, with a strong understanding of construction methods, building regulations and site logistics. A proven ability to lead subcontractors and manage competing priorities is essential.
Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills are required, together with a proactive and hands-on approach. You should be confident reading construction documentation, using standard project management and reporting systems, and working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
A relevant construction qualification, recognised site safety certification and a valid driving licence would be advantageous. This is an excellent opportunity for a capable construction professional to play a key role in delivering high-quality residential developments.
