Electrical Superintendent
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to lead and coordinate electrical construction, installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities across a major industrial project. The successful candidate will provide strong field leadership, ensuring all work is delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and applicable regulations. This role will involve close coordination with engineering, construction, commissioning, operations, contractors, and client representatives to support successful project delivery.
Key responsibilities include supervising electrical supervisors, technicians, subcontractors, and other site personnel; planning daily work fronts and allocating resources; reviewing construction documentation, method statements, inspection and test plans, and work permits; and monitoring progress against project schedules. You will oversee the installation and testing of electrical equipment and systems, including power distribution, cabling, switchgear, transformers, lighting, earthing, instrumentation interfaces, and control systems. The role will also require identifying technical issues, coordinating resolutions, supporting commissioning and handover activities, and maintaining accurate records of inspections, tests, progress, materials, and workforce performance. A strong focus on safe working practices, environmental compliance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement is essential.
Applicants should hold a recognised electrical qualification, trade certification, or engineering-related credential, together with substantial experience in electrical construction or industrial projects. Previous experience in a supervisory or superintendent role, particularly within energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, mining, utilities, or similar environments, is highly desirable. You should be able to interpret electrical drawings and specifications, manage subcontractor performance, and communicate effectively with people at all levels. Strong organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are required, along with a practical understanding of risk assessments, isolation procedures, testing standards, and site safety systems. The ability to work under pressure, manage changing priorities, and contribute positively within a multidisciplinary team will be important. A valid driving licence and relevant site certifications may also be required.
