Energy Storage Electrical Superintendent (AZ, NM, TX)
We are seeking an experienced Energy Storage Electrical Superintendent to oversee electrical construction activities across utility-scale battery energy storage projects in Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. This role will provide field leadership from mobilisation through commissioning, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with approved designs, specifications, contractual requirements, and applicable electrical codes. Travel between project sites will be required, with flexibility to work in remote locations and varied outdoor conditions.
Key responsibilities include coordinating electrical subcontractors, direct-hire crews, vendors, and commissioning teams; reviewing drawings, submittals, method statements, and installation plans; and managing the installation of medium- and low-voltage systems, battery containers, inverters, transformers, switchgear, cable systems, grounding, protection and control equipment, communications, and auxiliary systems. You will monitor daily progress, manpower, materials, productivity, quality, and schedule performance, while identifying constraints and implementing corrective actions. The Superintendent will also lead toolbox talks, enforce site safety procedures, support inspections and testing, maintain accurate field documentation, and coordinate energisation, punch-list completion, and turnover activities.
Applicants should have substantial experience supervising electrical construction on utility-scale energy, renewable power, substation, industrial, or battery storage projects. A strong understanding of electrical installation practices, one-line diagrams, construction sequencing, testing requirements, and commissioning processes is essential. Experience with medium-voltage systems, inverter-based resources, battery energy storage systems, and OSHA or equivalent safety standards is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be a confident field leader with strong communication, planning, problem-solving, and subcontractor management skills, capable of reading technical documents and using standard project reporting tools. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; electrical, engineering, construction, or project management qualifications are advantageous. Relevant safety training, electrical certifications, and a valid driving licence are preferred.
