Sr. Water Resources Project Manager

We are seeking a Senior Water Resources Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and delivery of complex water infrastructure and resource management projects. This role will oversee projects from initial concept and feasibility through permitting, construction, commissioning, and closeout, ensuring that work is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to a high technical standard. The successful candidate will manage multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with engineers, environmental specialists, contractors, regulators, utilities, clients, and community stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include developing project scopes, schedules, budgets, risk registers, procurement strategies, and delivery plans; managing contracts and consultant performance; reviewing technical reports, hydraulic and hydrologic analyses, models, designs, specifications, and construction documentation; and ensuring compliance with applicable environmental, planning, health and safety, and water management requirements. You will lead project meetings, monitor progress and financial performance, resolve technical and commercial issues, and provide clear reports and recommendations to senior stakeholders. The role may involve supporting flood risk management, stormwater, drainage, water supply, watershed planning, river restoration, and related resilience programmes.

Applicants should hold a degree in civil, environmental, water resources, or a related engineering discipline, with substantial experience delivering water resources or infrastructure projects. Professional registration or chartered status is desirable, along with strong knowledge of hydrology, hydraulics, flood risk, drainage, water management, and relevant regulatory frameworks. Proven experience managing budgets, programmes, design teams, contractors, and external partners is essential. Excellent communication, negotiation, organisation, and problem-solving skills are required, together with the ability to build trusted relationships and make sound decisions in a complex project environment. Experience with project management systems, technical modelling tools, and industry-standard design and contract practices would be advantageous. A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to project and construction sites may be required.
