We are seeking a Water Treatment Process Engineer to support the design, optimisation and delivery of water and wastewater treatment solutions. The successful candidate will contribute to projects across the full lifecycle, from feasibility studies and process selection through to detailed design, commissioning and operational support. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical, efficient and compliant treatment processes for municipal, industrial or commercial applications.

Key responsibilities will include preparing process calculations, mass balances, process flow diagrams, equipment specifications, control philosophies and technical reports. You will assess water quality data, identify treatment requirements and recommend suitable technologies such as clarification, filtration, biological treatment, membrane systems, disinfection, sludge treatment and chemical dosing. The role will involve reviewing designs, supporting equipment procurement, responding to technical queries and assisting with commissioning, performance testing and troubleshooting. You may also be required to visit operational sites, liaise with clients and suppliers, and provide technical guidance to project engineers and other stakeholders.

Applicants should have a degree or equivalent qualification in chemical, environmental, civil or process engineering, together with professional experience in water or wastewater treatment. A sound understanding of treatment processes, process modelling, hydraulic principles, relevant legislation and health and safety requirements is essential. Experience with design and calculation software, technical documentation and project delivery would be advantageous. We are looking for someone who can analyse complex information, communicate clearly and manage competing priorities while maintaining a strong focus on quality, sustainability and continuous improvement. Professional registration or progress towards registration is desirable.

We are seeking a Senior Process Engineer – Wastewater Treatment Team Lead to provide technical leadership across the development, design, delivery and optimisation of wastewater treatment solutions. This is a senior role for an experienced process engineer who can combine strong technical capability with effective team leadership, stakeholder management and commercial awareness. You will lead process activities across multiple projects, ensuring that solutions are safe, compliant, practical, cost-effective and aligned with client and operational requirements.

Your responsibilities will include developing process designs, calculations, mass balances, process flow diagrams, equipment specifications, control philosophies and technical reports for wastewater treatment systems. You will review and optimise treatment processes, assess plant performance, support commissioning and troubleshooting activities, and provide technical guidance throughout project delivery. You will coordinate with mechanical, electrical, civil, environmental and project management teams, while managing interfaces with clients, suppliers, regulators and other project stakeholders. The role will also involve reviewing technical documentation, contributing to bids and proposals, identifying project risks, and ensuring that work is delivered to relevant standards, legislation, health and safety requirements and quality expectations.

You will lead, mentor and develop a team of process engineers and specialists, promoting consistent technical practices, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent qualification in chemical, environmental, civil or process engineering, together with substantial experience in wastewater or water treatment design and project delivery. A strong understanding of biological and physical-chemical treatment processes, sludge management, process modelling and treatment plant operation is essential. Experience with design software, technical assurance, commissioning and multidisciplinary project environments is highly desirable. You should be an analytical and confident communicator, able to make sound engineering decisions, manage competing priorities and build effective relationships at all levels. Professional registration or progress towards it would be advantageous.
