We are seeking a Water Resources Staff Engineer to support the planning, design, and delivery of water resources and civil infrastructure projects. This role is suited to an early-career engineer who is motivated to develop technical expertise while contributing to projects involving stormwater management, flood risk reduction, drainage systems, water quality, watershed planning, and related infrastructure. You will work collaboratively with engineers, technical specialists, project managers, clients, and regulatory agencies to deliver practical, sustainable solutions.
Key responsibilities will include preparing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, developing drainage and stormwater management designs, producing technical calculations, plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates, and assisting with permitting and regulatory submissions. You may support field investigations, site assessments, construction administration, data collection, and the review of contractor submittals. The role will also involve using engineering software and modelling tools, interpreting survey and geospatial data, evaluating existing systems, identifying design constraints, and helping to develop options that meet technical, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
A bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, water resources, or a closely related engineering discipline is required. Professional experience through internships, placements, or graduate work in water resources, stormwater, drainage, floodplain management, or civil infrastructure is desirable. Familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software, CAD, GIS, and applicable design standards is an advantage. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical, written, verbal, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities, work accurately, and contribute effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Eligibility for professional engineering registration, or progress toward registration, is preferred. A valid driving licence and the ability to travel occasionally to project sites may also be required.
