Assistant Project Manager/Manager in Training
We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised Assistant Project Manager/Manager in Training to support the successful planning and delivery of projects from initial concept through to completion. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to develop practical project management experience while working alongside experienced managers and multidisciplinary teams. The role will involve coordinating activities, monitoring progress and contributing to the delivery of projects on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Key responsibilities will include assisting with project plans, schedules, budgets and resource allocation; coordinating internal teams, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders; preparing reports, meeting minutes and project documentation; tracking milestones, costs, risks and changes; and helping to identify and resolve issues before they affect delivery. You will support procurement and contract administration activities, attend site or progress meetings where required, and help ensure that health and safety, quality and regulatory requirements are consistently maintained. As your experience develops, you will be given increasing responsibility for managing workstreams and smaller projects independently.
The successful candidate will have strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and build positive working relationships. Previous experience in project coordination, construction, engineering, property, facilities, infrastructure or a related environment is desirable, although applications from graduates and candidates with transferable experience are welcome. You should be confident using standard office and project management software, comfortable working with budgets and schedules, and willing to learn new systems and processes. A proactive attitude, attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes are essential. A relevant qualification in project management, construction, engineering, business or a related discipline would be advantageous, as would experience working towards a recognised project management qualification. A willingness to travel to project locations and undertake further training is also required.
