We are seeking a Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of commercial construction projects from pre-construction through to completion. This role will suit an organised and technically minded construction professional who can coordinate multiple project requirements, communicate effectively with stakeholders and maintain a strong focus on quality, safety, programme and cost control.
Key responsibilities will include assisting with project planning, procurement and construction documentation; reviewing drawings, specifications and technical submissions; coordinating consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams; and monitoring progress against approved programmes and budgets. You will help manage requests for information, design changes, inspections, variations and quality records, ensuring issues are identified early and resolved efficiently. The role will also involve preparing reports, maintaining project registers, supporting contract administration and contributing to commissioning, handover and close-out activities. A proactive approach to risk management, documentation and compliance will be essential.
Applicants should have relevant qualifications in civil engineering, construction management, building or a related discipline, together with experience in a project engineering or similar role within commercial construction. Experience working on projects such as offices, retail, education, healthcare, industrial or mixed-use developments would be advantageous. You will need a sound understanding of construction methods, technical documentation, health and safety requirements, quality assurance processes and project controls. Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills are required, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with common construction and project management software, document control systems and Microsoft Office is desirable. We are seeking a Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of commercial construction projects from pre-construction through to completion. This role will suit a technically minded construction professional who can coordinate multiple stakeholders, maintain strong attention to detail and contribute to projects being delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Key responsibilities will include assisting with project planning, procurement, scheduling and cost control; reviewing drawings, specifications and contract documentation; coordinating consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams; and monitoring progress against agreed programmes. You will help manage requests for information, technical submissions, design changes, variations and project correspondence, ensuring issues are identified and resolved promptly. The role will also involve attending site and coordination meetings, maintaining accurate project records, supporting quality assurance processes, and contributing to health, safety and environmental compliance. You may also assist with progress claims, forecasting, reporting and the preparation of project documentation for handover.
Applicants should have relevant qualifications in civil engineering, construction management, building or a related discipline, together with experience in a project engineering, construction engineering or similar role. Commercial construction experience is highly desirable, particularly on large-scale building, fit-out, refurbishment or infrastructure projects. You will need the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, understand construction methodologies and work confidently with project management and document control systems. Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines and build effective working relationships.
