Planner Associate - Subdivision Land Development
We are seeking a Planner Associate to support the planning and delivery of subdivision land development projects from initial concept through to approval and implementation. This role will suit an early-career planning professional with an interest in residential, commercial, or mixed-use development and a strong understanding of statutory planning processes. You will work closely with senior planners, project managers, engineers, surveyors, consultants, government agencies, and other stakeholders to help achieve high-quality development outcomes.
Key responsibilities will include assisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications, subdivision applications, development assessments, planning reports, and supporting documentation. You will undertake planning research, review relevant legislation and local planning controls, assess site opportunities and constraints, and help coordinate responses to requests for further information. The role will also involve monitoring application progress, maintaining project records and schedules, attending meetings, communicating with authorities and consultants, and supporting the resolution of planning and development issues. You may also assist with site inspections, community or stakeholder consultation, and the preparation of clear written advice and correspondence.
Applicants should have a degree or relevant qualification in urban and regional planning, property, land development, or a related discipline, together with some practical experience in statutory or development planning. Knowledge of subdivision processes, development approvals, planning schemes, and relevant legislation will be highly regarded. Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, sound organisational ability, and confidence working with multiple deadlines are essential. Experience with planning databases, document management systems, mapping tools, or other technical software will be advantageous. You will be expected to demonstrate initiative, professionalism, sound judgement, and a collaborative approach, while also being capable of managing assigned tasks independently. This position offers the opportunity to develop specialist expertise in subdivision and land development within a supportive, project-focused environment.
