Civil Engineer (Land Development & Stormwater Management)
We are seeking a Civil Engineer specialising in land development and stormwater management to support the delivery of high-quality infrastructure projects from concept through to construction. The successful candidate will contribute to the planning, design and coordination of residential, commercial and mixed-use developments, ensuring solutions are technically sound, practical, sustainable and compliant with relevant legislation, standards and approval requirements.
Key responsibilities will include preparing civil engineering designs, calculations, reports, specifications and construction documentation for roads, earthworks, pavements, drainage networks, stormwater detention and treatment systems, flood mitigation measures and associated infrastructure. You will undertake site investigations, assess existing conditions, review survey and geotechnical information, and develop integrated stormwater management strategies. The role will also involve hydraulic and hydrological modelling, flood risk assessment, water-sensitive urban design and the preparation of plans using relevant civil design software. You will liaise with clients, authorities, contractors, surveyors, planners and other consultants, respond to technical queries, review construction work and provide engineering advice throughout project delivery.
Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering and have relevant experience in land development, urban infrastructure or stormwater engineering. Knowledge of applicable planning, drainage and environmental requirements is essential, together with the ability to interpret technical standards and produce clear, accurate documentation. Experience with civil design and modelling platforms, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, 12D, MUSIC, DRAINS, TUFLOW or comparable systems, will be advantageous. You will be expected to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and maintain a high standard of technical quality. Strong communication, problem-solving and collaboration skills are required, along with a proactive approach to identifying risks and developing effective engineering solutions. Professional registration or progress towards chartered status will be viewed favourably.
