Assistant Project Manager
We are seeking an organised and motivated Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of projects from initiation through to completion. Working closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery teams, you will help coordinate activities, monitor progress, maintain accurate documentation and ensure that project objectives, timelines and quality standards are achieved. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their project management career in a collaborative and delivery-focused environment.
Key responsibilities will include assisting with project planning, scheduling and resource coordination; tracking milestones, costs, risks, issues and dependencies; preparing progress reports, meeting agendas and project updates; and maintaining project plans, registers and supporting documentation. You will arrange meetings, record actions and follow up on agreed tasks to ensure deadlines are met. The role will also involve liaising with internal teams, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders, helping to resolve issues and escalating potential risks or delays appropriately. You may also support procurement activities, change control, budget monitoring and the review of project outputs to ensure they meet agreed requirements.
Applicants should have experience supporting projects, programmes or operational initiatives, together with a sound understanding of project management principles and processes. Strong organisational and time-management skills are essential, as is the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. You will need excellent written and verbal communication skills, confidence working with stakeholders at different levels and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Familiarity with project management software and standard Microsoft Office applications is expected; experience with reporting tools, risk management or formal project methodologies would be advantageous. A relevant qualification or recognised project management certification is desirable, although practical experience and a willingness to learn will also be valued. You must be comfortable working independently and as part of a team, adapting to changing requirements and contributing positively to a professional project environment.
