Water Resources Engineer - Orlando

We are seeking a Water Resources Engineer to support the planning, design, and delivery of water, stormwater, and environmental infrastructure projects in the Orlando area. This role will contribute to projects involving drainage studies, floodplain analysis, watershed management, stormwater conveyance, water quality improvements, and permitting. The successful candidate will work with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical, resilient, and cost-effective solutions for public and private sector clients.

Responsibilities will include preparing hydrologic and hydraulic models; performing drainage, flood, and water resources calculations; developing plans, specifications, technical reports, and permit applications; and supporting the design of stormwater management facilities, channels, culverts, detention systems, and related infrastructure. The engineer will review survey and field data, coordinate with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders, and assist with construction support, site inspections, and resolution of technical issues. Additional duties may include preparing cost estimates, schedules, design narratives, and presentations, as well as contributing to proposals and business development activities.

Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or water resources engineering and have relevant experience in water resources design, analysis, or consulting. Professional Engineer licensure in Florida, or the ability to obtain it within an agreed timeframe, is preferred. Experience with software such as ICPR, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, Civil 3D, GIS, or comparable modeling and design tools is highly valued. Candidates should understand applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including stormwater and floodplain requirements. Strong technical writing, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel occasionally to project sites may be required.
