Project Manager - Water/Wastewater - Orlando
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects in the Orlando area. This role will oversee projects from initial scope development through completion, ensuring that work is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contractual, regulatory, and quality requirements. The successful candidate will manage projects involving treatment facilities, pumping stations, pipelines, utilities, rehabilitation programs, and related civil infrastructure.
Responsibilities include defining project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and procurement requirements; coordinating design teams, contractors, consultants, vendors, and public agencies; and monitoring progress through regular reporting, meetings, site visits, and performance reviews. You will manage contracts, change orders, submittals, requests for information, pay applications, risk registers, and project documentation. The role also requires identifying and resolving technical, commercial, and operational issues, maintaining strong client relationships, supporting business development activities, and ensuring compliance with applicable health and safety standards, environmental regulations, permit conditions, and quality-control procedures. Occasional travel to project sites and client meetings may be required.
Qualified candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, environmental engineering, or a related discipline, along with several years of progressively responsible experience managing water and/or wastewater projects. Experience with municipal infrastructure, design-bid-build, design-build, or other alternative delivery methods is preferred. Professional registration, such as a Professional Engineer license, or relevant project management certification is advantageous. Strong knowledge of project controls, scheduling, cost management, contract administration, and construction practices is essential. Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication, negotiation, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Familiarity with project management software, scheduling tools, and standard office applications is expected.
