Field Engineer - Water/Wastewater

We are seeking a Field Engineer – Water/Wastewater to support the delivery, commissioning, and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Working across operational sites, you will provide technical guidance, coordinate field activities, and help ensure that construction and installation work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved designs, specifications, and regulatory requirements. The role will involve regular travel to project locations and collaboration with contractors, design teams, site supervisors, clients, and operational personnel.

Your responsibilities will include reviewing drawings, specifications, method statements, and inspection and test plans; monitoring site progress and workmanship; investigating technical issues; and supporting the resolution of design, construction, and commissioning queries. You will maintain accurate site records, prepare progress reports, track changes and defects, and contribute to project handover documentation. The successful candidate will also support equipment installation, testing, commissioning, and performance verification for assets such as pipelines, pumping stations, treatment systems, tanks, mechanical equipment, and associated electrical or control systems. A strong commitment to health, safety, environmental protection, and quality is essential.

Applicants should hold a degree, HND, HNC, or equivalent qualification in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, water engineering, or a related discipline. Previous experience working on water, wastewater, utilities, infrastructure, or process engineering projects is highly desirable, along with a practical understanding of construction methods, commissioning procedures, and relevant industry standards. You should be able to interpret technical drawings and specifications, use standard Microsoft Office and engineering software, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders. A proactive, organised approach, sound problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in demanding site environments are essential. A valid driving licence and flexibility to travel are required.
