Field Engineer

We are seeking a practical and technically capable Field Engineer to support the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of equipment and systems at customer and operational sites. This role will involve regular travel, working independently and collaboratively to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You will act as a key point of contact on site, representing the organisation professionally and building positive relationships with customers, contractors and internal teams.

Your responsibilities will include conducting site surveys, preparing equipment and tools, installing and configuring systems, carrying out testing and commissioning, and diagnosing faults using appropriate technical methods. You will complete planned and reactive maintenance, respond to service requests, and provide clear updates on progress, risks and required corrective actions. Accurate completion of service reports, inspection records, time sheets and other technical documentation will be essential. You may also support project planning, assist with training or handover activities, and provide practical advice to customers and colleagues.

Applicants should have relevant experience in field engineering, installation, maintenance, commissioning or a related technical environment. A qualification in engineering, electronics, electrical systems, mechanical engineering or a similar discipline would be advantageous. You will need strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, the ability to interpret technical drawings and manuals, and confidence using digital systems to record information. A full driving licence and willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays, are required. The successful candidate will be safety conscious, organised and adaptable, with excellent communication skills and a professional approach to customer service. You must be comfortable working at heights or in demanding site conditions where required, and able to manage competing priorities while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
