Construction Performance Engineer

We are seeking a Construction Performance Engineer to support the delivery of safe, efficient and high-quality construction projects. This role will focus on monitoring project performance, analysing operational data and identifying practical opportunities to improve productivity, cost control, programme certainty and build quality. You will work closely with project managers, site teams, commercial colleagues, contractors and technical specialists to establish consistent performance standards and support their successful implementation across active projects.

Key responsibilities will include developing and maintaining performance metrics, dashboards and reporting processes; reviewing project data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities; and providing clear analysis and recommendations to project leadership. You will support construction planning, progress measurement, earned value or productivity assessments, resource planning and forecasting. The role will also involve undertaking site visits, facilitating performance reviews, investigating variances, supporting root-cause analysis and helping teams implement corrective actions. You may contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, standardise best practice, assist with process and systems development, and prepare concise reports and presentations for senior stakeholders.

Applicants should have experience in construction, engineering, project controls, operational performance or a related discipline, supported by a relevant degree, apprenticeship or equivalent professional experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret complex information and translate it into practical actions. You should be confident working with spreadsheets, reporting tools and project management systems, with experience using data visualisation or performance management software advantageous. Excellent communication, influencing and organisational skills are required, together with a collaborative approach and the confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels. A sound understanding of construction processes, health and safety expectations, quality management and commercial awareness would be highly valued. The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-focused and comfortable working across multiple projects in a changing environment, with occasional travel to construction sites as required.
