Land Development Manager

We are seeking an experienced Land Development Manager to lead the planning, design and delivery of residential and mixed-use development projects from feasibility through to completion. This role will oversee multiple projects, ensuring that development strategies are commercially viable, technically sound and delivered in line with approved programmes, budgets and quality standards.

Key responsibilities will include managing consultants, contractors and external stakeholders; coordinating planning applications, technical assessments, infrastructure requirements and development approvals; and monitoring project milestones, costs, risks and performance. You will review development opportunities, contribute to feasibility and due diligence activities, and provide clear recommendations on land, planning, engineering and delivery matters. The role will also involve preparing project reports, managing consultant appointments, resolving issues, and maintaining strong relationships with local authorities, utility providers, community representatives and other project partners. You will be expected to identify opportunities to improve delivery outcomes while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, planning conditions, health and safety requirements and environmental standards.

Applicants should have substantial experience in land development, property development, urban planning, civil engineering or a related discipline, together with a relevant professional qualification or equivalent practical experience. Strong knowledge of the development process, planning frameworks, infrastructure coordination and construction principles is essential. You will need proven experience managing complex projects, budgets and multidisciplinary teams, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and make sound commercial decisions. Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills are required, along with strong attention to detail and confidence interpreting technical and financial information. A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work independently while contributing effectively to wider project teams will be highly valued.
