We are seeking a Project Engineer, Renewable Electrical Engineering to support the delivery of innovative renewable energy projects from concept through to commissioning. This role will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for projects such as solar photovoltaic, battery energy storage, wind, and hybrid generation facilities. You will work closely with project managers, design consultants, construction teams, equipment suppliers, network operators, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with technical, commercial, and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing electrical designs, specifications, calculations, drawings, and technical reports; coordinating grid connection studies and applications; supporting the selection and evaluation of major electrical equipment; and reviewing contractor and supplier submissions. You will assist with project schedules, budgets, risk assessments, procurement activities, and technical due diligence. The role will also involve participating in design reviews, factory and site acceptance testing, construction support, commissioning activities, and the resolution of technical issues throughout the project lifecycle. Maintaining accurate project documentation and ensuring compliance with applicable standards, codes, health and safety requirements, and environmental obligations will be essential.
The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering, with experience in renewable energy, power systems, transmission, distribution, or a related field. Knowledge of renewable generation technologies, grid connection processes, protection systems, high-voltage equipment, earthing, power quality, and electrical safety requirements is highly desirable. Experience using relevant engineering and design software, along with strong project coordination and technical communication skills, will be valued. You should be analytical, organised, commercially aware, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a collaborative environment. A proactive approach, attention to detail, and willingness to travel to project and construction sites when required are also important.

We are seeking a Project Engineer, Renewable Electrical Engineering (SCADA) to support the delivery of utility-scale renewable energy projects. In this role, you will contribute to the design, integration, commissioning and optimisation of supervisory control and data acquisition systems across solar, wind, battery energy storage and associated electrical infrastructure. You will work closely with internal engineering teams, project managers, contractors, equipment suppliers, network operators and other stakeholders to ensure SCADA systems meet technical, operational, safety and regulatory requirements.
Your responsibilities will include developing and reviewing SCADA architectures, control philosophies, functional specifications, point lists, communications interfaces and network diagrams. You will coordinate engineering deliverables, assess supplier documentation, support design reviews and manage technical queries throughout the project lifecycle. The role will also involve integrating plant controllers, protection systems, inverters, weather stations, meters and remote monitoring platforms; supporting factory and site acceptance testing; and participating in commissioning, troubleshooting and performance verification activities. You will help maintain engineering standards, identify risks and opportunities, contribute to lessons learned, and provide technical support during construction and operations.
Applicants should have a degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in electrical, control systems, automation or a related engineering discipline, together with experience delivering SCADA, controls or communications systems in renewable energy, utilities, industrial automation or a comparable environment. Knowledge of IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, OPC, TCP/IP networking, PLCs, RTUs and power plant control systems is highly desirable. Experience with grid connection requirements, high-voltage electrical systems, cybersecurity principles and SCADA testing methodologies will be advantageous. You will need strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a project environment. A practical, collaborative approach and willingness to travel to project sites are also expected.
