We are seeking an experienced Water Supply & Wastewater Group Leader to provide technical leadership and strategic direction across a multidisciplinary team delivering water, wastewater and related infrastructure projects. This is an opportunity to lead the development of innovative, resilient and sustainable solutions for a diverse range of clients and communities. You will play a key role in shaping project delivery, supporting business growth and maintaining high standards of technical excellence.
Your responsibilities will include leading and mentoring engineers, technicians and project managers; overseeing the planning, design and delivery of water supply, wastewater treatment, sewerage and network infrastructure projects; and ensuring work is completed to agreed programmes, budgets, quality standards and regulatory requirements. You will provide technical review and assurance, manage project risks, contribute to bids and proposals, and build strong relationships with clients, contractors, regulators and other stakeholders. The role will also involve identifying opportunities for innovation, improving delivery processes and promoting best practice in health, safety, environmental management and sustainability.
Applicants should have a relevant degree or equivalent qualification in civil, environmental or water engineering, together with substantial professional experience in the water sector. Demonstrable expertise in water supply and wastewater systems, infrastructure planning, hydraulic assessment, treatment processes or network design is essential. Experience managing teams, budgets and complex projects is highly desirable, as is a strong understanding of applicable legislation, technical standards and consenting requirements. You will be an effective communicator with proven leadership, commercial and problem-solving skills, and the ability to influence decisions at all levels. Professional registration or chartered status, or a clear commitment to achieving it, would be advantageous.
