Land Development Manager
We are seeking an experienced Land Development Manager to lead the planning, design, approval and delivery of residential, commercial or mixed-use development projects. This role will oversee projects from initial feasibility and land due diligence through to construction commencement, ensuring that programmes, budgets, quality standards and statutory requirements are met. You will coordinate internal teams, consultants, contractors, authorities and other stakeholders to achieve efficient, commercially sound outcomes.
Key responsibilities include managing land development strategies, reviewing site opportunities, coordinating planning and engineering investigations, and overseeing the preparation and submission of development applications, permits and approvals. You will manage consultants across civil engineering, planning, environmental, surveying, traffic and infrastructure disciplines, while monitoring design development and resolving technical or approval-related issues. The role will also involve preparing feasibility assessments, development budgets, project schedules and risk registers; tracking costs and milestones; contributing to procurement and contract negotiations; and providing clear progress reports to senior stakeholders. You will ensure projects comply with relevant legislation, policies, technical standards, environmental requirements and health and safety obligations.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience managing land development or major property projects, ideally within residential, subdivision, infrastructure or mixed-use environments. A degree or relevant qualification in property, construction, engineering, planning, project management or a related discipline is desirable. You will bring strong knowledge of planning and approval processes, development feasibility, civil infrastructure and project delivery principles, together with proven commercial and contract management skills. Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management abilities are essential, as is the capacity to manage multiple priorities, identify risks early and make well-informed decisions. The ability to work collaboratively while maintaining accountability for project outcomes will be highly valued.
