Assistant Project Manager I
Assistant Project Manager I
We are seeking an organised and motivated Assistant Project Manager I to support the successful planning and delivery of projects from initiation through to completion. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their project management career while working alongside experienced colleagues and contributing to a range of business-critical activities.
You will assist with coordinating project schedules, resources, documentation and communications, ensuring that work remains aligned with agreed objectives, budgets and timescales. You will work collaboratively with internal teams, suppliers and other stakeholders, helping to identify risks, resolve issues and maintain clear records throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Support the preparation and maintenance of project plans, timelines, budgets and status reports.
- Coordinate meetings, workshops and project updates, recording actions and following up on agreed deliverables.
- Monitor progress against milestones, highlighting delays, dependencies, risks and emerging issues.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including registers, schedules, decisions and change requests.
- Assist with stakeholder communications and provide timely updates on project performance.
- Work with project managers and delivery teams to help ensure quality, compliance and effective resource utilisation.
- Contribute to project reviews and continuous improvement activities.
About you
You will have some experience supporting projects, programmes or operational initiatives, ideally within a structured or regulated environment. A working knowledge of project management principles and tools is desirable, along with strong organisational and administrative skills.
We are looking for someone who communicates clearly, builds positive working relationships and can manage competing priorities with attention to detail. You should be confident using standard office and project management software, comfortable working with data and able to raise concerns constructively when required.
A relevant qualification in project management, business or a related discipline would be advantageous, although practical experience and a proactive approach are equally valued. Training and development support will be available to help you progress in the role.
