An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of wastewater infrastructure and treatment projects. This role will suit a confident professional with a strong background in water, utilities, civil engineering or environmental construction, who can manage complex programmes from initial planning through to completion.
You will take responsibility for coordinating multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, contractors and stakeholders, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and within budget. The role involves managing the full project lifecycle, maintaining high standards of quality and compliance, and contributing to the improvement of wastewater services and assets.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, manage and deliver wastewater projects in line with agreed scope, programme, budget and quality standards.
- Lead project teams and coordinate designers, engineers, contractors, suppliers and operational colleagues.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, risk registers, cost forecasts and progress reports.
- Monitor project performance, identify potential issues and implement effective mitigation plans.
- Manage procurement, contract administration, change control and commercial considerations.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, environmental requirements and relevant industry standards.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, providing clear updates and managing expectations throughout delivery.
- Support commissioning, handover and post-project reviews, capturing lessons learned for future schemes.
About you
You will have proven experience managing wastewater, water, utilities, civil engineering or similarly complex infrastructure projects. A formal project management qualification, such as PRINCE2, APM or equivalent, would be advantageous, alongside a relevant technical or engineering qualification.
You should be commercially aware, highly organised and able to make sound decisions in a changing environment. Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills are essential, as is the ability to translate technical information into clear, practical actions. Experience of NEC contracts, regulatory compliance, construction delivery and working within live operational environments would be beneficial.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to essential environmental infrastructure while developing your career on a varied portfolio of challenging and meaningful projects.
