Field Engineer II
We are seeking a capable and motivated Field Engineer II to provide technical support, installation expertise and on-site engineering services across a range of customer locations. This role is suited to an experienced engineer who can work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver consistently high standards in operationally demanding environments.
You will be responsible for installing, commissioning, maintaining and repairing technical equipment and systems. Working closely with customers, project teams and other engineers, you will investigate faults, identify practical solutions and ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with agreed specifications.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, inspections, testing and commissioning activities.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, electronic or network-related faults and implement effective corrective actions.
- Provide clear technical guidance to customers and colleagues, including demonstrations and basic user training.
- Prepare accurate service reports, test records, risk assessments and other required documentation.
- Support installations, upgrades and improvement projects from planning through to completion.
- Manage tools, parts and equipment responsibly, ensuring work is completed with minimal disruption.
- Follow health and safety, quality and environmental procedures at all times.
- Escalate complex technical issues promptly and contribute to root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.
About you
You will have relevant experience in a field engineering, service engineering or technical support environment, along with a recognised qualification in engineering, electronics, automation, information technology or a related discipline. Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals and schematics.
Excellent communication and customer service skills are required, together with good organisational abilities and a professional approach. You must be comfortable travelling to different sites and working flexibly, sometimes outside standard hours. A full UK driving licence is desirable, and additional training or certification relevant to the equipment or industry would be advantageous.
