Civil Project Engineer - Federal/Public Safety Land Development
Civil Project Engineer – Federal/Public Safety Land Development
An exciting opportunity is available for a Civil Project Engineer to support the planning, design and delivery of complex land development and infrastructure projects serving federal and public safety environments. This role will suit an experienced civil engineering professional who can combine strong technical knowledge with practical project management and stakeholder coordination skills.
You will contribute to projects from feasibility and concept design through to construction, ensuring that technical solutions are compliant, cost-effective and suitable for highly regulated operational settings. The position involves working closely with clients, architects, surveyors, contractors, authorities and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and review civil engineering designs for roads, pavements, drainage, utilities, grading and site infrastructure.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, calculations, drawings and documentation for planning, tender and construction stages.
- Coordinate site investigations, surveys, geotechnical information and utility investigations.
- Manage design deliverables, programme requirements, budgets, risks and quality standards across multiple projects.
- Support procurement, tender assessments, construction administration and responses to technical queries.
- Undertake site inspections and provide engineering advice during construction, commissioning and close-out.
- Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including representatives working in secure or sensitive environments.
About you
You will hold a degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, together with relevant professional experience in land development, civil infrastructure or public-sector projects. Chartered or near-Chartered status, or eligibility to obtain professional registration, would be advantageous.
Experience with design and documentation software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, drainage modelling tools or comparable platforms is desirable. You should have a sound understanding of applicable engineering standards, health and safety requirements, environmental considerations and quality assurance processes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to organise competing priorities, solve problems independently and work collaboratively. Due to the nature of the projects, successful applicants may be required to undergo background screening and meet relevant security or site-access requirements.
