We are seeking an experienced Project Manager (Water) to lead the successful delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects from concept through to completion. You will be responsible for managing project scope, programme, budget, quality, health and safety, and environmental performance while ensuring that all works meet contractual, regulatory, and technical requirements. Projects may include treatment facilities, pipelines, pumping stations, reservoirs, network upgrades, and associated civil, mechanical, and electrical works.
Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining project execution plans, construction programmes, risk registers, budgets, and reporting systems. You will coordinate design teams, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and timely resolution of technical, commercial, and operational issues. You will monitor progress against key milestones, manage change control and procurement activities, review project documentation, and support contract administration, cost forecasting, and final account processes. A strong focus on safe working practices, quality assurance, environmental compliance, and stakeholder engagement will be essential.
Applicants should have proven experience managing water or wastewater projects, ideally within a regulated infrastructure, construction, or engineering environment. A relevant qualification in civil engineering, construction management, project management, or a related discipline is preferred, together with practical knowledge of project controls, construction methods, health and safety legislation, environmental standards, and contract management. Strong leadership, negotiation, organisation, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions under pressure. Professional project management or engineering accreditation would be advantageous. A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites may be required.
