Civil Project Engineer II/III - Land Development
Civil Project Engineer II/III – Land Development
An exciting opportunity is available for a Civil Project Engineer to support the delivery of complex land development projects from initial concept through to construction. This role would suit an experienced engineer looking to broaden their technical and project management responsibilities, or a senior engineer ready to take greater ownership of client delivery and team coordination.
You will work closely with clients, architects, planners, contractors and regulatory authorities to develop practical, cost-effective solutions. The position offers involvement across residential, commercial, industrial and mixed-use schemes, with responsibility varying according to experience and project requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and review civil engineering designs for roads, drainage, utilities, earthworks and associated infrastructure.
- Produce technical reports, calculations, drawings, specifications and construction documentation.
- Coordinate project information with multidisciplinary teams, external consultants and statutory bodies.
- Support planning, permitting and approval processes, ensuring designs meet relevant standards and regulations.
- Undertake site visits, inspections and construction support, resolving technical issues as they arise.
- Manage agreed project tasks, budgets, programmes and deliverables, escalating risks where appropriate.
- Provide guidance to junior engineers and contribute to quality assurance and technical reviews.
- Maintain effective communication with clients and help identify opportunities for improved project outcomes.
About you
You will hold a degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline and have relevant experience in land development or infrastructure design. Candidates should be confident applying engineering principles to real-world projects and interpreting relevant design codes, legislation and technical guidance.
Experience with civil design and modelling software, stormwater management, site grading and utility coordination is desirable. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with sound organisation, commercial awareness and the ability to manage competing priorities. Professional registration, or demonstrable progress towards it, would be advantageous.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative technical environment where you can contribute to high-quality projects, develop your career and take on increasing responsibility.
