This role will involve working across a range of schemes, including treatment facilities, pumping stations, pipelines, drainage networks and associated civil engineering works. You will contribute to projects from feasibility and concept development through to detailed design, construction support and completion, helping to deliver safe, sustainable and cost-effective solutions.

Responsibilities will include preparing technical reports, calculations, specifications, drawings and schedules; developing hydraulic models and carrying out network assessments; undertaking design reviews and optioneering; coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams, clients, contractors and regulatory stakeholders; and supporting the preparation of planning, procurement and construction documentation. You will also assist with site inspections, respond to technical queries, monitor progress against programme and budget, and help ensure that designs comply with relevant legislation, standards, environmental requirements and health and safety procedures. Depending on experience, you may also provide technical guidance to junior engineers and contribute to bids, project management and client meetings.

Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in civil, environmental, water engineering or a related discipline, with relevant experience in the water or wastewater sector. Experience with hydraulic modelling, treatment processes, infrastructure design or construction delivery would be advantageous. You should be confident using industry-standard design and modelling software, able to interpret technical information and produce clear written documentation, and comfortable working collaboratively as well as managing your own workload.
