Project Engineer – Residential Land Development

An opportunity is available for a Project Engineer to support the delivery of residential land development projects from concept and planning through to construction and completion. Working alongside project managers, consultants, contractors, authorities and other stakeholders, you will contribute to the successful coordination of civil infrastructure works across a range of housing developments. This role would suit an engineer with experience in land development who is looking to take ownership of projects and build strong relationships across the development and construction process.

Your responsibilities will include coordinating engineering design, technical investigations, approvals and construction documentation; reviewing plans, specifications, cost estimates and consultant deliverables; and monitoring project programs, budgets, quality and risk. You will assist with the management of civil works including roads, drainage, earthworks, sewer and water infrastructure, utilities and public open space. The role will also involve liaising with local authorities and service providers, attending site meetings, responding to technical queries, assessing variations and progress claims, and supporting the resolution of construction issues. Accurate reporting, document control and maintaining clear project records will be important aspects of the position.

Applicants should hold a degree or diploma in civil engineering, construction management or a related discipline, with relevant experience in residential subdivision or land development projects. Knowledge of local authority requirements, civil design principles, construction practices and development approval processes will be highly regarded. You will bring sound technical judgement, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines. Clear written and verbal communication is essential, along with confidence working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. Experience with civil engineering design software, project management systems and relevant industry standards will be advantageous. A current driver’s licence and the ability to travel to project sites may be required.
