We are seeking a capable and motivated Project Engineer to support the delivery of residential land development projects from initial feasibility through to completion. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in civil infrastructure, development design or construction who is looking to take ownership of technically challenging projects and contribute to the creation of high-quality communities.
Working alongside project managers, consultants, contractors, local authorities and other stakeholders, you will help ensure that schemes are designed, approved and delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with relevant standards. You will be involved across the full project lifecycle, with the opportunity to develop your technical, commercial and project management skills.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate the design and delivery of roads, drainage, utilities, earthworks and other residential infrastructure.
- Review engineering drawings, technical reports, specifications and construction information.
- Assist with planning applications, technical approvals, section agreements and infrastructure adoption processes.
- Manage inputs from external consultants and monitor progress against agreed programmes, budgets and quality standards.
- Attend site meetings, undertake inspections and support the resolution of technical issues during construction.
- liaise with local authorities, statutory undertakers, contractors and internal teams to maintain project momentum.
- Identify risks, develop practical solutions and ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental and engineering requirements.
- Maintain accurate project records and contribute to cost reporting, tender evaluations and contract administration.
About you
You will hold a degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering, or a related discipline, and have relevant experience in residential development, infrastructure design, consultancy or construction. Membership of a professional engineering institution, or progress towards professional registration, would be advantageous.
You should have a sound understanding of drainage, highways and development engineering principles, together with strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills. Experience with design software, technical approval processes and coordinating multiple stakeholders would be beneficial. Above all, you will be proactive, commercially aware and committed to delivering high standards.
A competitive salary and benefits package is available, together with opportunities for professional development and progression.
