This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware and technically capable professional to manage multidisciplinary teams, coordinate stakeholders and deliver high-quality developments safely, efficiently and in line with approved programmes.
The successful candidate will oversee projects across the full development lifecycle, ensuring that design, planning, engineering, procurement and construction activities are effectively coordinated. You will build strong working relationships with consultants, contractors, local authorities, landowners and internal teams, while maintaining clear communication and robust project controls.
Key responsibilities
- Manage land development projects from feasibility, planning and design through to construction and handover.
- Prepare and maintain project programmes, budgets, risk registers and delivery strategies.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary consultants, contractors and technical advisers.
- Monitor project performance, identify issues and implement practical solutions to maintain progress.
- Lead meetings, provide clear progress reports and communicate project updates to key stakeholders.
- Support planning applications, statutory approvals, procurement activities and contractual processes.
- Ensure all works comply with relevant legislation, technical standards, health and safety requirements and quality expectations.
- Review designs, specifications and construction information to identify risks, opportunities and value improvements.
About you
You will have proven experience managing land development, infrastructure, residential, commercial or similar construction projects. A strong understanding of planning, highways, drainage, utilities and development processes is desirable, together with experience managing external consultants and contractors.
You should be organised, commercially minded and confident making decisions in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills are essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver against challenging deadlines.
A relevant degree or professional qualification in project management, construction, civil engineering, surveying or a related discipline is preferred. Membership of a relevant professional body, such as RICS, CIOB or APM, would be advantageous.
