MEP Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced MEP Superintendent to oversee the installation, commissioning, and delivery of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on a major construction project. The successful candidate will provide strong field leadership, coordinate specialist subcontractors, and ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved designs, specifications, programmes, and quality standards. This role will involve close collaboration with project management, engineering, construction, commissioning, and health and safety teams.

Key responsibilities include supervising daily MEP activities, reviewing drawings and technical submissions, resolving site-based issues, and monitoring progress against project milestones. You will coordinate interfaces between MEP disciplines and other construction trades, lead regular coordination meetings, and ensure that installation works are properly sequenced to avoid delays or rework. The role will also involve inspecting materials and workmanship, managing testing and inspection requirements, supporting commissioning and handover activities, and maintaining accurate records of progress, defects, changes, and completed works. You will be expected to enforce safe working practices, participate in risk assessments, and ensure subcontractors comply with applicable regulations and project procedures.

Applicants should have substantial experience in an MEP supervisory or superintendent role on complex construction, industrial, commercial, infrastructure, or data centre projects. A strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, construction methods, technical documentation, quality control, and commissioning processes is essential. Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams, interpreting design information, and working to demanding schedules will be highly valued. Excellent communication, organisation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are required, together with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced site environment. Relevant technical qualifications, trade certification, or a degree in engineering or construction management are desirable. The role may require travel, extended site hours, and work in changing project conditions.
