Senior Planner – Tunnel MEP & Fit-Out

We are seeking a Senior Planner – Tunnel MEP & Fit-Out to support the successful delivery of complex underground infrastructure and tunnel construction works. The role will be responsible for developing, maintaining and managing integrated programmes covering mechanical, electrical and public health systems, tunnel systems, architectural finishes, fit-out activities, testing, commissioning and handover. You will work closely with project, engineering, commercial and construction teams to ensure that planning information accurately reflects progress, interfaces, constraints and delivery priorities.

Key responsibilities will include preparing baseline programmes, detailed short- and medium-term look-ahead schedules, progress updates and recovery plans. You will monitor actual performance against planned dates, identify critical and near-critical activities, assess delays and dependencies, and provide clear recommendations for mitigation. The role will require effective coordination of subcontractors and specialist suppliers, with particular attention to installation sequencing, access constraints, temporary works, workface planning, design deliverables, procurement, testing and commissioning interfaces. You will also contribute to progress meetings, schedule reviews, change assessments, risk workshops and regular reporting for senior project stakeholders.

Applicants should have substantial experience in planning major construction, rail, tunnel, infrastructure or MEP projects, with a strong understanding of fit-out and systems integration in complex operational environments. Proficiency in Primavera P6 or equivalent planning software is essential, along with the ability to interpret design information, construction methodologies and contractual programmes. Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills are required, as well as the confidence to challenge information, influence delivery teams and present concise schedule narratives. Experience of earned value, delay analysis, resource-loaded programmes, commissioning and handover planning would be highly advantageous. A relevant technical, engineering, construction or project management qualification is desirable.
