We are seeking a Graduate Highways Engineer to join a collaborative transport infrastructure team in Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent civil engineering graduate to develop practical experience across the planning, design and delivery of highway and transportation projects. Working alongside experienced engineers and project professionals, you will contribute to schemes ranging from local road improvements and junction upgrades to larger urban and regional infrastructure developments.

Your responsibilities will include supporting the preparation of highway and civil engineering designs, drawings, reports, specifications and technical schedules. You will assist with traffic and transport assessments, junction analysis, road alignment, drainage design, pavement proposals and the development of active travel infrastructure. You will also help undertake site inspections, surveys, data collection and design reviews, while ensuring that work is delivered in accordance with relevant Irish standards, design guidance, health and safety requirements and environmental considerations. The role may involve using computer-aided design, modelling and project management software, with appropriate training provided.

Applicants should hold, or be working towards, a degree in civil engineering, transportation engineering or a closely related discipline. An interest in highways, roads and sustainable transport is essential, along with strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills. You should be able to communicate clearly, work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and manage tasks with care and attention to detail. Familiarity with software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, traffic modelling tools or Microsoft Office would be beneficial, although full training and mentoring will be available. A willingness to learn, develop professionally and occasionally travel to project sites is expected.
