We are seeking an experienced Permanent Way Lead to oversee the safe, efficient and compliant delivery of rail infrastructure works across projects in Dublin and Cork. This is a senior site-based role requiring strong technical knowledge of track construction, renewal, maintenance and associated civil engineering activities. You will lead teams, coordinate subcontractors and ensure works are delivered to the required standards, programme and budget.

Key responsibilities will include planning and supervising permanent way activities; reviewing drawings, specifications, method statements and inspection plans; coordinating possessions, isolations, access arrangements and site resources; and monitoring productivity, quality and progress. You will provide technical guidance to engineers, supervisors and delivery teams, resolve site issues, and maintain effective communication with project managers, clients, designers and other stakeholders. The role will also involve supporting procurement and logistics, managing materials and plant, preparing progress reports, and contributing to risk assessments, safe systems of work and project reviews.

Applicants should have significant experience in permanent way or track delivery, ideally within a major rail, light rail or transport infrastructure environment. A relevant engineering or construction qualification is desirable, together with a strong understanding of rail standards, track geometry, possession planning, quality assurance and health and safety requirements. Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing subcontractors is essential, as is the ability to interpret technical documentation and make sound decisions in a live construction environment. Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills are required. The successful candidate must be willing to travel between Dublin and Cork, work flexibly to meet project requirements, and demonstrate a consistent commitment to safety, quality and professional standards.
