Planner / Scheduler

We are seeking an organised and proactive Planner / Scheduler to coordinate work programmes, allocate resources and support the efficient delivery of planned activities. This role will suit someone who is confident managing competing priorities, communicating with a range of stakeholders and maintaining accurate records in a fast-paced operational environment. You will play an important part in ensuring schedules are realistic, resources are available and work is completed safely, on time and to the required standard.

Key responsibilities will include preparing and maintaining short- and long-term schedules, coordinating labour, materials, equipment and subcontractor requirements, and monitoring progress against agreed plans. You will liaise with operational teams, suppliers, contractors and customers to confirm requirements, resolve scheduling conflicts and communicate changes. The role will also involve identifying potential delays or resource constraints, updating planning systems, producing progress reports and maintaining accurate documentation. You will contribute to improving planning processes, supporting performance reviews and ensuring that relevant health, safety, quality and compliance requirements are incorporated into work programmes.

Applicants should have previous experience in planning, scheduling, coordination or a similar operational role, ideally within a busy technical, engineering, construction, manufacturing, facilities or service environment. Strong organisational and time-management skills are essential, together with excellent attention to detail and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure. You should be comfortable using scheduling, database or enterprise resource planning systems, as well as standard Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Effective written and verbal communication skills are required, along with the confidence to work collaboratively and challenge assumptions when necessary. The successful candidate will be adaptable, dependable and committed to delivering accurate work while managing changing priorities. A relevant qualification or demonstrable experience in planning, logistics, operations or project coordination would be advantageous.
