Sr General Superintendent II - Federal (100% Travel)

We are seeking a Senior General Superintendent II to oversee the successful delivery of complex federal construction projects across multiple locations. This is a highly visible leadership role requiring 100% travel and the ability to manage field operations in varied environments. The successful candidate will provide direction from project mobilisation through completion, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements, quality standards, and applicable federal regulations.

Responsibilities include coordinating day-to-day site activities; supervising general superintendents, superintendents, subcontractors, and trade partners; reviewing drawings, specifications, schedules, and submittals; and resolving field issues in collaboration with project management, design teams, government representatives, and other stakeholders. You will establish short- and long-term planning objectives, monitor productivity and manpower, verify material deliveries, manage sequencing and logistics, and lead regular coordination and progress meetings. The role also requires strict enforcement of safety procedures, quality-control requirements, site security protocols, and documentation standards. You will identify risks early, implement corrective actions, maintain accurate project records, and support change management, commissioning, inspections, and closeout activities.

Applicants should have significant experience leading large-scale commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or federal construction projects, with a demonstrated record of managing complex field operations. Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, scheduling, contract administration, safety compliance, and quality assurance is essential. Experience working on secure, government, military, or other regulated projects is highly desirable. Candidates must be capable of reading and interpreting technical documents, using construction management and scheduling software, communicating effectively with diverse teams, and making sound decisions under pressure. A bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline is preferred, although equivalent experience will be considered. Relevant safety, construction, or federal contracting credentials are advantageous. Extensive travel and extended periods on active project sites are required.
