Sr Project Executive - Federal Construction (100% Travel)
We are seeking a Senior Project Executive to lead complex federal construction projects from preconstruction through completion. This role is responsible for providing strategic direction, operational leadership, and executive oversight across multiple project teams and locations. The successful candidate will manage projects requiring 100% travel, establish strong relationships with government representatives, designers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders, and ensure work is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements.
Key responsibilities include directing project planning and execution; reviewing drawings, specifications, schedules, estimates, and procurement strategies; monitoring cost performance, cash flow, quality, safety, and progress; and implementing effective risk-management and change-control processes. The Senior Project Executive will lead project meetings, resolve complex field and contractual issues, oversee subcontractor performance, support negotiations, and maintain accurate project documentation and reporting. This position will also mentor project managers and field leadership, promote consistent construction practices, and identify opportunities to improve productivity, profitability, and client satisfaction. The role may involve oversight of several concurrent projects in remote, secure, or operationally sensitive environments.
Qualified candidates should have extensive experience managing large-scale commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or federal construction projects, with a proven record of successfully leading teams and delivering technically complex work. Experience with federal contracts, government facilities, design-build delivery, or projects subject to stringent compliance requirements is highly valued. A bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, business, or a related discipline is preferred, along with recognized project or construction management credentials. Candidates must demonstrate strong knowledge of scheduling, estimating, contract administration, safety standards, quality control, and relevant federal regulations. Excellent communication, negotiation, organization, and decision-making skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, pass required background or security screenings, and travel continuously to project sites nationwide.
