Sr Project Executive - Federal (50% Travel)
We are seeking a Senior Project Executive to lead complex federal projects from initiation through completion, with responsibility for delivering high-quality outcomes on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual, regulatory, and security requirements. This role will provide senior-level oversight across project planning, execution, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and performance reporting. The position requires approximately 50% travel to client sites, project locations, and other business-related destinations.
Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining integrated project schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and execution strategies; coordinating cross-functional teams, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives; and ensuring project activities align with approved scope, milestones, quality standards, and applicable federal requirements. The successful candidate will monitor project performance, identify and mitigate risks, manage issues and changes, and provide clear status updates to executive leadership and government stakeholders. Additional duties include supporting proposals and contract modifications, reviewing deliverables, maintaining accurate project documentation, and promoting consistent processes across the project portfolio. The role may also involve mentoring project managers and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in project management, business, engineering, construction, information technology, or a related discipline, along with substantial experience leading complex projects for federal or other highly regulated clients. A recognized project management certification, such as PMP, is preferred. Strong knowledge of project controls, financial management, scheduling tools, risk assessment, contract administration, and performance measurement is required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication, sound judgment, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience working with government contracting processes, compliance frameworks, and security-sensitive programs is highly desirable. Applicants must be willing and able to travel approximately 50% and meet any applicable client, background screening, or clearance requirements.
