An opportunity is available for an Associate or Senior Biologist/Regulatory Specialist to support environmental, biological, and regulatory projects in the Folsom area. The successful candidate will contribute to projects involving natural resource assessments, permitting, compliance, and environmental review, working with multidisciplinary teams to help clients meet applicable federal, state, and local requirements.

Responsibilities may include conducting biological surveys and field assessments; identifying and documenting plants, wildlife, habitats, and sensitive resources; preparing technical reports, biological evaluations, permit applications, and supporting documentation; and assisting with environmental impact analyses. The role will also involve researching regulations, coordinating with regulatory agencies and project stakeholders, tracking permit conditions and compliance commitments, and supporting project planning from initial scoping through implementation. Senior-level candidates may lead technical tasks, manage schedules and budgets, review deliverables, mentor junior staff, and serve as a primary point of contact for clients and agencies. Fieldwork, occasional travel, and work in variable outdoor conditions may be required.

Applicants should have a degree in biology, ecology, environmental science, natural resources, or a related discipline, along with relevant professional experience. Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations, including the Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, California Environmental Quality Act, and related permitting processes, is desirable. Candidates should demonstrate strong technical writing, research, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently and collaboratively. Experience with biological survey methods, agency coordination, geographic information systems, and preparation of regulatory or environmental documents will be valued. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites are expected. Senior candidates should also bring demonstrated project leadership, quality control, and client or agency coordination experience.
