You will take responsibility for the day-to-day supervision of civil works, ensuring projects are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, programmes and relevant legislation. The position will involve regular travel between sites, working closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and client representatives.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate civil construction activities, including earthworks, foundations, drainage, concrete and infrastructure installation.
- Lead site teams and subcontractors, allocating resources and monitoring productivity.
- Interpret construction drawings, technical specifications and method statements.
- Monitor progress against project programmes and report risks, delays and variations.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Inspect workmanship and materials to ensure work meets required quality standards.
- Coordinate site logistics, plant, equipment, deliveries and workforce requirements.
- Maintain accurate daily records, inspection reports, site diaries and progress documentation.
- Attend coordination meetings and communicate effectively with all project stakeholders.
About you
You will have substantial experience supervising civil construction projects, preferably within infrastructure, utilities, industrial, energy or related sectors. A recognised qualification in civil engineering, construction management or a comparable discipline would be advantageous, alongside a strong understanding of construction methods, temporary works and site controls.
Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills are essential. You must be confident making decisions on site, managing competing priorities and addressing issues promptly. The ability to read technical drawings, use digital reporting systems and maintain accurate records is also required.
A full driving licence and willingness to travel regularly are essential. In return, this opportunity offers varied project exposure, professional development and the chance to play a key role in delivering high-quality civil works across multiple locations.
