RAMS Analyst
An opportunity is available for a RAMS Analyst to support the delivery of reliable, maintainable and safe assets across complex engineering and infrastructure projects. Working with multidisciplinary teams, you will provide structured analysis and assurance throughout the asset lifecycle, from early design and requirements definition through to testing, commissioning and operational support.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining RAMS documentation, assessing system performance and identifying opportunities to reduce technical and operational risk. The role requires a methodical approach, strong analytical capability and the confidence to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain RAMS plans, analyses, cases and supporting technical reports.
- Undertake reliability, availability, maintainability and safety assessments in line with relevant standards and project requirements.
- Develop and review failure mode, effects and criticality analyses, fault trees, event trees and hazard logs.
- Collect, validate and analyse asset performance, failure and maintenance data.
- Support the identification, assessment and mitigation of hazards and operational risks.
- Review supplier documentation and provide technical input to design reviews, verification activities and assurance submissions.
- Monitor RAMS deliverables, assumptions, actions and performance targets throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work collaboratively with engineering, systems, safety, quality, operations and project management teams.
About you
You will have experience in a RAMS, systems engineering, safety engineering or asset performance environment, ideally within a regulated or safety-critical industry. A degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, mathematics, physics or a related discipline would be advantageous. Familiarity with relevant RAMS and systems assurance standards, risk management techniques and lifecycle processes is also desirable.
You should be confident using data analysis and reporting tools, able to interpret complex technical information and capable of producing clear, accurate documentation. Strong organisation, attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential, alongside the ability to manage competing priorities and contribute positively within a team.
This role offers the opportunity to influence engineering outcomes, improve asset performance and support the delivery of safe, dependable systems.
