RAMS Analyst

An opportunity is available for a RAMS Analyst to support the delivery of safe, reliable and maintainable systems across complex engineering projects. You will provide analytical expertise throughout the project lifecycle, helping to identify risks, demonstrate compliance and improve asset performance.

Working closely with engineering, systems, safety, quality and project teams, you will develop and maintain Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety documentation. You will interpret technical information, assess system performance and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage RAMS plans, strategies, reports and supporting technical documentation.
  • Undertake reliability, maintainability, availability and safety analyses for systems, equipment and assets.
  • Develop and review failure mode, effects and criticality analyses, fault trees, event trees and reliability block diagrams.
  • Analyse operational and performance data to identify trends, failure causes and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support hazard identification, risk assessments and the development of appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Contribute to verification and validation activities, ensuring RAMS requirements are traceable and demonstrably satisfied.
  • Review supplier and contractor submissions for technical accuracy, quality and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Present technical findings, risks and recommendations at design reviews and project meetings.

About you

You will have experience in a RAMS, reliability, safety or systems engineering role, ideally within a regulated, infrastructure, transport, defence, energy or similarly complex environment. A degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, mathematics, physics or a related discipline is desirable.

You should be confident using analytical techniques and producing clear, accurate technical reports. Knowledge of relevant RAMS standards, risk management methodologies and lifecycle processes is important, together with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.

This role will suit an analytical and collaborative professional who can work independently, challenge constructively and build effective relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
